Well Shakeology has reformulated again.
Actually before I start I want to clear up some confusion….
There have been 3 formulations of the Chocolate Shakeology
- the original
- the New Superfood Formula
- The latest formula… “which I am talking about in this post”
Ok….

That will fill you in all the details on the new superfoods they added, how they lowered the sugar and added more fiber.
Problem with the “#2 New Superfood Formula”
To be honest it was not a huge problem to me, but there were a good amount of people complaining. This past formula was a bit different then the original. There was more of an aftertaste. If I had to choose one to drink everyday it would have been the original, but that is not to say it was bad. It was not and in fact I have been drinking it for months.
So basically after BeachBody changed the formula they got quite a bit of complaints and decided to get a panel of 2,500 customers and tweak it a bit.
My newest Shakeology “the #3 version” came last night and I had it this morning. All I can say is kudos to BeachBody. This tastes just like the original and has all the great super foods added.
I have to say I am proud to be part of BeachBody as a coach and to drink it everyday. How many companies do you know that would reformulate a drink that is making them lots of $$ and then actually reformulate it again to make it even better.
It goes to show the BeachBody truly does have the goal to make Shakeology the Healthiest meal of the day!

The new 2013 shakeology is nothing like it was before. It’s sickening sweet so I can’t add frozen fruit anymore. Plus it doesn’t thicken up at all!! It’s thin and runny no matter what I add to it. It used to be able to make it so thick I could eat it like ice cream. I want the old shakeology back!!! This new junk is no different then buying ovaltine except it costs over $100 more! I think they ripped everyone off by making it “better” when really they skimped on ingredients. If you compare the old package with the new one there’s less super foods now. Maybe they thought people wouldn’t read and compare the new label with the old one. Which by the way, it’s hardly a meal now. It’s about as filling as a glass of juice. The old shakeology would keep you full till your next meal. I think shakeology wants you to believe they created a new and improved shake when really they cut back on quality and about to lose a customer who purchases two bags of this stuff every month! Change it back!!!
Hey there always good to hear all types of feedback. I cannot agree with anything you are talking about though. I think the latest formula tastes wonderful. I actually made one of the most thick shakes ever the other day because I had added a bit more ice by mistake so not sure what you are talking about there as well. Skimped on the ingredients? Can you clarify further? They added more superfoods with the latest formulas.It still keeps me full and I have been actually having them for breakfast everyday instead of lunch like I used too. That is my 2 cents on this. We are all entitled to our opinions. You could email beach body and complain about it. They did revamp this latest one, because they did get feedback about the previous taste.
I will say the taste has grown on me but still too sweet for adding fruit. It’s still runny too and I added extra ice like you said. As for them adding less super foods… yes the makers of shakeology said they added new super foods but when you look at the old package it contained 35g of super foods. The new package says 32g of super foods. Which means they must have cut a lot out in order to add new ones in and still end up with less grams. I’m just disappointed.
